From Liverpool to Tanzania: Darcy's Mission to Empower Girls

Hi, I’m Darcy, and I’m 18 years old. I believe in the power of young girls to shape the future—and I’m determined to help them see it too.

That’s why I founded Teen Soul Sisters, a free self-development group that brings together girls from all backgrounds to explore confidence, resilience, and personal growth. We laugh, learn, and lift each other up. And now, that mission is taking me 4,000 miles from home.

I’m beyond excited (and yes, a little nervous!) to be volunteering in Tanzania—a place rich in culture, community, and opportunity. I’ll be working directly with girls to support their education and encourage their dreams, continuing the work I started in Liverpool.

It’s a big adventure, but I’m not doing it alone.

I’m so grateful to everyone who’s supported me—including the amazing team at Liverpool Heartbeat. They generously donated comic books for the children, letting them carry a little piece of Liverpool’s spirit in their hands. It means the world to me, and I know it’ll mean even more to the kids who receive them.

Empowerment starts with connection, and this journey is proof of what can happen when we show up for one another. I’ll be sharing updates as I go, and I hope you’ll follow along. Because no matter where we live, every girl deserves the chance to find her voice—and use it to change the world.

Thank you
