Two Decades of Impact
The David Graham Natural High Tour Across Merseyside
Liverpool Heartbeat has delivered the David Graham Natural High School Tour to Merseyside schools every year since 2004 — creating one of the region’s longest‑running and most impactful youth programmes. Over two decades, the tour has reached hundreds of schools and tens of thousands of students, inspiring young people to make positive choices, build confidence, and embrace healthy, active lifestyles.
But the story of the tour begins long before its first school visit.

David Graham is a singer‑songwriter whose exceptional talent has been recognised by the British Academy of Songwriters and Composers. Yet it wasn’t just his musical ability that impressed Robin Baynes MBE — it was the message behind David’s Natural High Schools Programme.
Focused on raising awareness of the dangers surrounding illegal drugs, crime, and anti‑social behaviour, the programme delivered its message in a memorable, interactive and enjoyable way. It aligned perfectly with Liverpool Heartbeat’s mission to support young people’s wellbeing, confidence and citizenship.
That first meeting between David and Robin at West Derby Rotary Club sparked a friendship that has lasted sixteen years — and a partnership that went on to reach hundreds of schools and thousands of students across Merseyside. Their shared commitment to empowering young people remains as strong today as it was on the day they met.
Liverpool Heartbeat has raised over £30,000 to bring David into schools across the region, supported generously by Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, New Start Social Housing, LFC in the Community and EFC in the Community. Together, they’ve built a legacy of inspiration, resilience and positive choices for generations of young people.
