An Inspiring Update to Our Southport Story
I wanted to share an exciting update following my recent post about meeting Brittany Fenney and her mum at the Southport Flower Show.
Please take a moment to read her inspiring email to me below

I would absolutely love to come and meet the girls at Teen Soul Sisters one Sunday — let’s make it happen!
My message to all the children and young people at Liverpool Heartbeat is to be their own biggest YES, to believe in themselves, believe in their dreams and, most importantly, believe in what they are capable of achieving.
As a young girl, I really struggled with my confidence and found meeting new people incredibly difficult. I had always loved the performing arts, particularly singing and dancing, but I never had the confidence to perform in front of an audience. It took time for me to find that confidence and grow into the woman I am today.
Fast forward to now, and I am a professional performer, a primary school teacher, a female entrepreneur running my own entertainment company and Miss International United Kingdom 2026. I now get to stand on stages and do the very things that the younger version of me was once too afraid to do.
That journey is one of the reasons I am so passionate about helping children and young people recognise their own potential. At the heart of everything I have done over the past six years has been a desire to champion kindness, celebrate and empower women, and create opportunities where every child feels included, valued and able to shine.
Through my entertainment company, I have had the privilege of creating magical memories for thousands of children and families through performances and experiences. Giving back to my community is also incredibly important to me, and I regularly volunteer my time performing for and visiting children with life-limiting illnesses at Claire House Children’s Hospice and supporting children and families at Stick ’n’ Step.
I am also the founder of Kindness and Inclusion in Dance, a non-profit initiative that uses dance to inspire kindness, confidence, self-expression and inclusion. Over the past six years, the programme has reached more than 12,000 children, and my ambition is to double that number by the end of my Miss International United Kingdom reign in 2027.
I have been incredibly grateful to have this work recognised through nominations for honours including the Liverpool Community Impact Awards and recognition from the BBC, but for me, the greatest achievement will always be knowing that a young person has walked away feeling a little more confident, included and able to believe in themselves.
If I could tell the children at Liverpool Heartbeat one thing, it would be this:
The person you are today does not define the limits of the person you can become.
I know what it feels like to be the girl who lacks confidence, who is frightened to put herself forward and who wonders whether she is good enough. But I also know what can happen when you start saying yes to yourself.
Confidence grows. Dreams that once seemed impossible can become reality. And you are capable of so much more than you might currently believe.
So be your own biggest yes. Be kind to yourself and to others. Celebrate what makes you different. Take the opportunities that come your way, be brave enough to try and never underestimate what you can achieve.
I would absolutely love the opportunity to share that message with the girls at Teen Soul Sisters and hopefully inspire them to become their own biggest YES too.
It was wonderful meeting you, Rob, and I really hope we can make it happen.
kind regards,
Brittany
